All Things Come To An End
Hello Friends, I’ve been hosting this site for what, 15 years now?! It’s been a true joy to share here the music that has been such an inspiration to me. It’s a navigable map of my journey as a DJ since I started making these mixes.
As one who grew up in a more academic musical environment, I truly value the art form of the mixtape. I put my utmost love and attention into these mixes so they could be listened to over and over again, like a studio album, hopefully standing the test of time. If I have anything to communicate or transmit, I find it most satisfying to do through the medium of music. So these mixes reflect a personal and intangible part of myself, ultimately with the hope that it will bring inspiration to others.
I’m still passionate to make and share music. I’m discovering a lot with my current AHzHA project which is helping me realize a lifelong goal of making my musical masterpiece. That may sound grand (who knows if it will indeed be a ‘masterpiece’), but I feel it important to do right now.
Anyway, I am consolidating my energies and resources so putting the milesmaedamixes.com website to rest. I appreciate all the many of you who have visited and supported the site over the years. I’d like these mixes to continue to be available online so made a YouTube channel for this — https://www.youtube.com/@total_m — (however some mixes flag copyright claims which limit visibility). You can also still find handfuls of mixes on my Mixcloud page, both Miles Maeda and Total M.
All things come to an end, so I deeply bow and give gratitude to the life and legacy of milesmaedamixes.com. Thank you all for being an essential part of it.
